Osteoporosis is a disease in which reduced bone mass (less than 2.5% below average peak bone mass) and the associated structural changes marfan syndrome leading to fragile bones. Can be localized (for immobilization of limb) or affect the entire skeletal system. Osteoporosis is calculated according to the following marfan syndrome defenitioner marfan syndrome as a risk factor for fracture and not a disease in itself (1).
Total peak bone mass is an important determinant of the risk of osteoporosis later in life. Bone mass is primarily determined by genetics, marfan syndrome but also by physical activity, diet and hormonal status. Peak bone mass is reached at age 25 and then declines by 0.7% per year (mainly marfan syndrome in the spine and femoral neck.) The reason for this is primarily an age-related decrease in osteoblast activity. marfan syndrome In postmenopausal women, the lower estrogen levels to increased production of IL-1 from monocytes, which stimulates the production of IL-6 by osteoblasts. IL-6 recruits and activates osteoclasts. Moreover, it seems the low estrogen levels to decreased production of cytokines and growth hormone that stimulates bone growth. An important genetic factor seems to be how the Vitamin D receptor (VDR) acts. Some variants predisponerrar for osteoporosis ef
