The reiki, tai chi, yoga, homeopathy and meditation are provided in the list of alternative treatments in conjunction with traditional medicine, many women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer have decided to test as a measure to counter the disease.
The most recent National Health Interview Survey (NHIS, for its acronym in English) showed that in 2007 38% of adults diagnosed with cancer hypothyroidism symptoms had used some form of alternative treatment.
The Mayo Clinic is emphatic in clarifying that alternative medicine should not completely replace traditional treatments such as chemotherapy. According to its website, "alternative cancer treatments have no role in curing cancer, but can help lessen the symptoms and signs of the disease and its treatments." These symptoms include hypothyroidism symptoms anxiety, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, hypothyroidism symptoms pain, trouble sleeping and stress.
The benefits of alternative cancer treatments have been experienced by Maira Blasini psychologist, who spoke to Siempre Mujer on their experience in the battle against breast cancer. In 2011 Blasini was diagnosed and began receiving reiki sessions before even starting his chemotherapy sessions. After 6 sessions of radiation, he had lost most of his hair, but did not suffer any of the other symptoms or discomfort.
